If you missed it the first time, now's your chance! Come see "Apples and Bananas: a text duet" performed at the Williamsburg Arts and Historical Center (WAH) for their first annual Spring Dance Festival. We are performing Friday, May 4th at 8pm. Tickets are $10.
April marks major seasonal change. Musing on the death-rebirth cycle of winter into spring, and cleaning out my apartment, my thoughts gravitated to old memories and storage boxes.
At first, I only wanted to make a dance about relationships with inanimate objects. But now I see the cardboard box (the object I randomly chose) as a metaphor for so much more. Things lost (a lost and found box), things of the past (a box of mementos), things deceased (a box of ashes), things not working out (moving boxes), etc.
This video shows the beginning stages of my new piece. Be sure to watch to the end for the big smooch!
